✨ Congratulations to our All-State musicians!

We are incredibly proud of the Scarsdale High School students who represented our community at the NYSSMA Winter Conference 2025 in Rochester, NY.

🎶 Selected All-State Musicians:

• Alexander Hart — Double Bass

• Chen Lei — Trumpet

• Chenyu Li — Soprano

• Tia Mukamal — Guitar

• Ryan Smith — Trombone

They represented Scarsdale High School at the NYSSMA Winter Conference 2025 that took place in Rochester, NY, from December 4-7, 2025. Students qualify by earning high scores (99-100) on NYSSMA auditions on a Level VI solo from the repertoire lists during the spring festival.

The All-State bands, chorus, orchestra, and jazz ensembles are honors groups comprised of the top students from school music departments across the state. The 8 groups are directed by renowned guest conductors and perform in one of three concerts in the Eastman (Rochester) Theater and Innovations Theater.The students chosen are members of the High School Orchestra, High School Band, or High School Chorus, conducted by Amedee Williams, Brian Zeller, and Amanda Gundling, respectively.

There are often more candidates with scores of 100 than can be accommodated by the limited size of the All-State groups; however, every student receiving a score of 100 is guaranteed alternate status. The following six additional Scarsdale students received that status:

• Meera Chari (cello)

• Annika Yogaratnam (violin)

• Nikhil Saxena (cello)

• Alexander Sharp (bass)

• Raphael Sutiono (cello)

• Catherine Zhang (flute)
